Bengaluru: A panic-stricken father had come to Jnana Bharathi police station helplessly urging the police to find his abducted son. However, in a twist to the story, the police found that the son himself staged an abduction plot to eke out Rs 2500 as pocket money from his father.

A resident of Nagarabhavi had approached the police alleging that his son has been kidnapped. When the police started an investigation they found out a shocking truth.

According to the police, the youth sent a message on his father’s mobile number from his friend’s mobile stating that his son has been abducted and he must transfer Rs.2,500 to his account if he wants his son to be released. Even as the father thought this was suspicious, after transferring the amount, the father got another message asking for his debit card numbers and OTP. This is when the father headed straight to the police station to lodge a complaint.

When the police started investigating they found that it was the work of the ‘abducted’ son, who was later taken into custody from his friend’s residence. The father has now decided to withdraw the complaint as his son is facing the charge of misleading the police.
