Bengaluru: The agitation by PU lecturers over implementation of Kumar Naik recommendation report turned ugly on Thursday as a few lecturers hurled slippers at MLCs who came in for mediation.

As the agitation entered the 13th day lecturers were expecting minister for education, Kimmane Rathnakar to address them and bring in a logical end for the denouement.
But the lecturers lost their cool when MLCs led by Ganesh Karnik arrived on scene as mediators of government and gheroaed them for a while before letting them go without dialogue.
Meanwhile, PU lecturers’ association General Secretary Ninge Gowda, apologised about the slipper hurling incident and said that the hunger strike will be continued until their demands are met.
