Bangalore : The curious case of the Saurabh Rastogi’s murder investigation is making progress. Saurabh a 33-year-old HR manager at Genpact company, was found murdered at his Sun city apartment in Iblur, HSR Layout, on the night of June 14. On June 20, police arrested Rasvin Chengappa, a colleague of Saurabh, for the murder.
Rasvin has allegedly told the cops he was unable to get over his ex-girlfriend who reportedly broke up with him and shifted to Dubai, and when he first met Ankisha — who allegedly resembled his ex — he became obsessed with her. He allegedly thought of marrying Ankisha by eliminating Saurabh. Rasvin had hatched the plot to kill Saurabh after he learnt that the Rastogi couple would be moving to USA, said the officer. It is learnt that he has not mentioned Ankisha in his conversations with the police.
As of now, Saurabh’s wife, though questioned by the police, is in the clear. It has been reported that text messages have been exchanged by Rasvin and Ankisha, but these messages do not link Ankisha to the actions of Rasvin.
Consequently the police had sought permission from the Court to submit Ankisha to a polygraph test to thoroughly probe if she had any role in the murder. She is likely to be taken to the forensic science laboratory in Ahmedabad or Hyderabad based on the availability of dates at these labs. The jurisdictional Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-VI granted HSR Layout police permission for the test on Thursday.
