One arrested for duping people with fake land promise

Bengaluru: The city north division police on Monday arrested a fraud who falsely promised to allot sites for retired and family members of slain soldiers in a newly developed layout in the city.

The arrested is Srinivasa Gowda, a resident of Sahakara Nagar in north Bengaluru.

Gowda had collected Rs 1.09 crore in the name of Durga Properties Pvt Ltd., from 7 retired soldiers and failed to provide sites as promised.

Based on a complaint filed by a dissent soldier, police arrested the accused.
