Bengaluru: City Police Commissioner N S Megharik on Monday issued an order banning the sale of liquor on Tuesday to maintain law and order since Supreme Court is scheduled to hear Karnataka pleas to reconsider its modified order on the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
The ban on the sale of liquor will be in force from 6 am to midnight of September 20. “I have ordered the closure of all liquor shops, wine stores and pubs in Bengaluru between 6 am and midnight on Tuesday. The decision has been taken to prevent miscreants causing damage to public property or indulge in violence,” the police commissioner said.
