Bangalore : Legislator Ramesh Kumar has filed a defamation case against social activist S.R. Hiremutt in the 8th ACMM Court in Bangalore alleging that  the latter had  tarnished his public image.

The court has accepted the petition and the hearing is slated for March 26.

Shankerappa, advocate for Ramesh Kumar has said that Hiremutt was trying to enjoy publicity in media by making false allegations against dignitaries. He said  the defamation suit has demanded  Rs one crore as damages  for his client.
