Newskarnataka-Satanoor
Satanoor: It’s indeed a difficult task to nurture the plant to grow as a tree. Meanwhile, it’s a easier task to burn the tree stuffing fire into its trunk, fell the tree. The huge trees dotting the road between Krishnayyanadoddi and Chikkegowdanadoddi at Kanakapura are crippled by the savage act of miscreants.

The state administration has been spending huge money to grow plants in state-owned lands through different programmes every year, with the view of conserving the forests. Its irony that despite the full grown trees are destroyed by the miscreants, the forest department seems disinterested to cap the menace. The tourist spot of Sangam lies about 33 kilometre away from Kanakapura town, while the state forest department has planted several saplings on either side of the road since the past few years to enhance the beauty en route. All those planted saplings do not survive owing to lack of water, while a few naturally survive to grow as trees and the forest department is expected to guard them from miscreants.
The miscreants stuffed fire into the bark of over 40 trees that have grown lush besides the road along Sangam between Krishnayyanadoddi and Chikkegowdanadoddi. Its indeed agonises one to view such a pathetic sight. In spite of this, the forest department seemed not bothered.
Despite Satanoor range forest conservator Padmanabha was informed of this incident, it was futile. When it was informed to assistant conservator of forests Satyanarayana, he assured to visit the spot along with foresters and take necessary action, but one has to wait and see what action he will take.
