Bengaluru: Doddarasinakere village in Maddur taluk of the district turned tense following the destruction of Rebel Star Ambareesh’s name plate on a road. Doddarasinakere is the birthplace of Ambareesh.

According to the sources, the name plate was destroyed after Sumalata announced her candidature from the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. “On Sunday night it was destroyed. Tense situation in the village following the destruction,” said sources. There is no clarity on who destroyed it.

It can be recalled that in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency JDS is fielding Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of CM Nikhil Kumaraswamy. The JDS fears that it may lose the election if Sumalata contests as an independent candidate.
