Bengaluru: The trend of naming the newborn kids after the name of IAF wing commander Abhinandan who was captured after shooting down a Pakistan F 16 war plane even entered the state. A couple from Kustagi town in Koppala named their kid as Abhinandan.

Mahantesh Shettar and Shanta Shettar, a couple from Kustagi town in Koppala district named their son as Abhinandan. The baby is three-months-old.

The couple informed that originally they wanted to name their son as Atharva or Abhinava. But following Abhinandan’s war heroics, they decided to name him Abhinandan.
