Bengaluru: The Legislative Assembly, as expected, witnessed furor over PU eam question paper leak issue on Thursday as the opposition demanded the resignation of Minister of State Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar’s resignation on moral grounds.

The adamant opposition clung on to its stand and said that it would not allow the proceedings till Rathnakar resigned.

With Ratnakar refusing to budge, Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa had to adjourn the House sine die amid a dharna by the BJP?members.

As the house met, Opposition leader Jagadish Shettar set the tone by questioning how the question paper of a particular subject can leak twice, within span of ten days.

Holding an officer named Suresh Thunga to be the kingpin behind the leak racket, Shettar questioned Rathnakar as to why he did not initiate action against officials during the first leak.

Meanwhile YSV Datta said that the second leak could not have happening without the involvement of the higher ups and also suspected that the mild- mannered minister might be the target of his detractors.
