Bengaluru: After experiencing severe jolts with question paper leak episodes, the Pre-University Education Department would undergo a major surgery, specifically aiming the examination set up.
“It is the department which conducts the examination and its officials are to be held responsible for any lapses,” said Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Rathnakar, responding to opposition’s attack in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
CID on its toes
Meanwhile, the CID?team headed by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) C?H Pratap Reddy and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sonia Narang on Thursday prepared procedure of mahazar to be followed to ascertain or rule out the possibility of question paper leak from the strongrooms.
The same was issued to deputy commissioners of all the districts by Ajay Seth, Principal Secretary of the Education department.
The deputy commissioners have been directed to complete the mahazar (panchanama) by Thursday evening itself. The panchanamas will have to be scanned and mailed across to the Principal Secretary so as to be forwarded to the CID officials for further investigation, reported the New Indian Express.
The question papers were delivered to 187 treasuries (strong rooms) across the state. Later, the question papers were delivered to 1,032 examination centres.
The CID is probing the process involved in the transportation of the bundles to strong rooms and further to the examination centres.
