Bengaluru: Jyoti Nivas College held their Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations recently.

The grand event was held on Friday with actor Rakshith Shetty as Chief Guest. The event began with Principal Dr.Sr. Elizabeth, Rakshith, Dr Prabhavathi Head of the Department (HOD) of Kannada and other eminent personalities lighting the lamp and evoking God’s blessings.

This was followed by the powerful rendition of the ‘naada geethe’ by Ayesha Sheikh of 3rd CEOEP. There was also a vibrant invocation dance by ‘Advaiya’ .

Dr Prabhavathi Head of the Department (HOD) of Kannada welcomed the guests along with everyone gathered. Dr. Sr. Elizabeth’s speech which included a video presentation was a celebration of the Kannada language and culture which was thought provoking and exhilarating for the audience.

This was followed by a cultural programme that included a medley of songs and dances which showcased vivid forms of Kannada culture, music and movies presented by the students of Jyoti Nivas. I

t was then chief guest Rakshith’s turn to interact with the audience. His presence was special for the students as his co-star in his upcoming movie ‘Vasthu Prakara’ Aishani Shetty is a 3rd year CEOEP student of the college who charmed the audience with a melodious rendition of a song from the movie.

The programme came to a close with a vote of thanks by Aishani.
