‘Kabali’ becomes eyesore to Kannada activists

Bengaluru: The hysterical atmosphere created by ‘Kabali’, a Rajnikanth starrer Tamil flick has irritated the pro-Kannada activists.

Several Pro-Kannada organizations including Vatal Kannada Paksha, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and others staged protest against screening non-Kannada movies in large scale in the city as well as in the state.

The organizations expressed anger against state government and state Film Commerce Board for not putting a restrictions on such developments and demanded government to limit the number of screens for non-Kannada films in a bid to boost Kannada movie viewership.

The agitators burnt posters and banners of non-Kannada movies and stars including ‘Kabali’ and ‘Sultan’.
