Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which are probing the alleged Police lapses in preventing the attack on Director General of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Rashmi V submitted the interim report to the government, recently
Rashmi, was assaulted in Mysuru, on October 15 at the ATI premises where she had gone to pay her last respect to ATI Mess Manager Venkatesh, whose body was found floating in the sump at ATI premises.

The report stated that negligence on the part of the jurisdictional officers, Police Inspector and downwards, had led to the commotion.
However, the CID, in its interim report submitted to the government, is silent on the allegations made by Rashmi who had alleged the attack on her, carried out at the behest of Additional-Director General of Police (Intelligence) A.M. Prasad, husband of the former Director-General of ATI, Amita Prasad, against whom she had submitted a report to the government.
The inquiry was handed over to CID, which claimed negligence on the part of the Police during the assault on Rashmi.
It was also found during the inquiry that procedures were followed by the local Police in the discharge of their duties with respect to a case of unnatural death according to the guidelines in the Police manual.
DGP (CID) Bipin Gopalakrishna said that an interim report submitted to the government stated that lower rung officials from the jurisdictional Police Station have failed to act swiftly to handle the law and order situation.
