Mysore: A team of CID officials led by Dy SP Kumaraswamy met Director General (DG) of the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Rashmi V. Mahesh at her office in the ATI premises on Lalitha Mahal Road, Saturday October 25.
The CID has taken up the case and has begun investigating the attack on, ATI DG V Rashmi during her visit to condole the death of ATI mess-in- charge, H Venkatesh on October 15.
CID Dy SP, A Kumarswamy, who is heading the investigation will be recording her statement today, Sunday October 26.
Asked if he was inquiring into the alleged role played by ADGP intelligence, AM Prasad in the attack, Kumaraswamy said he was not. Rashmi had in her report to the Chief Secretary charged that the police had been instructed by Prasad not to provide her security during her visit to condole the ATI staffer’s death.
Kumarawamy said he had been directed by the DG, CID to inquire into certain aspects of the case, but could not disclose what they were. Mysore police commissioner, Dr MA Saleem, when contacted, too said the alleged role of the ADGP, intelligence was not being investigated. “Rashmi has not mentioned it in her complaint,” he added.
The police reportedly are looking into the case that could have instigated the attack on the officer.
