Bangalore: Former Union minister Dhananjay Kumar from Udupi-Chikmagalur seat and C S Puttaraju from Mandya constituency were confirmed as the nominations for Janata Dal (Secular), on Thursday March 20 during a press meet.
The party also announced the candidature of D S Sagar, Dalit leader from Gulbarga constituency and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy from Chikkaballapur.
JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda said the party was waiting for final touches to be given to the remaining 13 seats, before announcing the final list of candidates on March 23.
Gowda said former MLC Abdul Azeem and sitting MLA from Chamarajpet, Zameer Ahmed Khan, were being considered for the seat.
It is learnt that JD(S) is also trying to get retired IPS officer K.C. Ramamurthy, who was an aspirant for Congress ticket from Bangalore North. His nomination for the Congress primaries for Bangalore North was rejected on technical grounds.
However Janata Dal (Secular), still has to announce 16 Lok Sabha nominations.
