Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr Muddu Mohan said that the fate of the candidates of Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency will be decided by 13,51,245 voters.

Speaking to the media persons, the Deputy Commissioner added that the enrolment campaign of the voters is exclusively taken up and March 27 will be the last date for the same.
Of the total number of voters 6,89,833 are female voters and 6,61,364 male voters. The DC said 7155 fresh applications have been received for enrolment in voters’ list. There are 1751 polling booths, of which 819 are in Udupi and 932 are in Chikmagalur. About 132 sectoral officers are appointed in both the districts and 31 flying squads, 33 static surveillance teams, 17 video surveillance teams, two assistant expenditure observers, eight expenditure accounting teams and 10 video viewing teams are deployed., he informed.
The central para military force would be in charge of the security in Maoist affected areas. One head constable and one home guard will be deployed in hyper-sensitive and one police constable will be deployed in sensitive polling booths.
Amarnath Mallik from West Bengal will be general observer, informed the DC.
