Bangalore: Walkers around Ulsoor lake were confronted with a strange problem on Sunday morning October 5.
When they went for their usual morning walk, they found debris of Durga idols strewn all over the place leaving no space for them to stroll.

Saturday festivities
In fact as many as 1,500 Durga idols were immersed in the immersion pond in the lake on Saturday, the concluding day of nine-day Navratri festival. The lake area wore a festive look with a large number of people of the Bengali community congregating in the place for the immersion of Durga idols.
But there has been a lack of follow-up action on part of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Ravi, a caretaker at the lake, said that no BBMP personnel had visited the lake to clear the idols as it was a Sunday. He said that he requested the crane operator hired for immersion to drag out all the idols from the pond on Sunday.
BBMP Commissioner M. Lakshminarayana acknowledged that the lake was littered with idol debris and said that it would be cleared within a day or two.
