Bengaluru: In a surprising statement, state transport minister, Maddur MLA DC Thammanna stated that he can’t give any assurance that party candidate Nikhil will win from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in the recently held polling.
It can be recalled that in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, JDS-Congress alliance candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy locked horns with independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh, wife of late actor and politician MH Ambareesh who is fondly called as the Mandyada Gandu.
His statement gained importance as it is assumed that Sumalatha gained a good lead in Maddur assembly segment.
“In the assembly election, I had got 54,000 lead in the Maddur. It may come down by 20,000 votes,” he said.
He also stated that he will take a decision soon whether to continue in politics or not. “My future political decision will have nothing to do with Nikhil’s fate in the election,” he said.
