Bengaluru: Former CM Siddaramaiah will address a Congress rally in Kundagol where a by-election will be held on May 19.

According to the Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah will accompany party candidate Kusuma Shivalli while filing her nomination papers. Later, he will carry out a road show and address a party rally.

Kusuma Shivalli is the wife of late CS Shivalli, who died following a cardiac arrest on March 22 in Hubballi. The by-election was necessitated due to his death.

The Congress is hoping that the sympathy wave and JDS support will help Kusuma to register an easy victory. Party has appointed major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar as the by-election in-charge.
