Home Minister KJ George visits 9-y old girl rape victim

Bangalore : The nine-year-old girl  who was allegedly  raped near the  Begur Main Road in Electronics City, was visited by Home Minister KJ George at St John’s Hospital on Sunday January 6.

Assuring her parents of financial assistance from the State government, KJ George said that the government would bear all the medical expenses and would personally provide them a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh.

The girl was on her way back to her house from school on Saturday when an unidentified man dragged her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her. Later, her parents had filed a complaint with the police.

The culprit has managed to escape although seven police teams have been formed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police TD Pawar to investigate the case and it is leant that once the victim’s condition is stable, an official statement will be recorded.

Medical authorities at St John’s Hospital said the medical examination had showed signs of sexual assault. They said she was conscious but needed time to heal psychologically.
