Mangalore/Udupi/Hubli: Various Hindu organisations including the Hindu Jana Jagruthi Samithi and the Sri Rama Sene staged protests in Mangalore, Udupi, Hubli and various other places of the state demanding Indian citizenship to  Hindu refugees  who  have sought asylum in India after  being subject to atrocities in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Addressing the protestors, Mohan Gowda said  several Hindus who have  migrated from Pakistan are now facing trouble as the Indian government  is trying to extradite them as their visa term has expired.  He alleged that the Indian Government was treating such Hindus as criminals and urged the government to give Indian citizenship to such Hindus and also rehabilitate them.

Activists burnt a Pakistani flag  near the Rani Chennamma Circle in Hubli, as part of the protest.
