Bengaluru: A day after the arrest of Focus TV MD Hemanth Kumar Kammar, the CCB police found that he had also blackmailed a state minister in the name of transfer mafia, by creating a fake audio clip.

“Close associates of the minister who met the CCB police shared the details with them in this regard. The minister’s staff have been asked to lodge a complaint at the Yeswanthpur police station. After they register an FIR, the case will be investigated by the CCB,” said sources in the city police.

Meanwhile, the CCB police got custody Hemanth Kumar for five days for the inquiry.

According to sources, Hemanth Kumar informed the CCB police that he lost around Rs 1.5 crores due to his failed channel and sold all his properties, including his car.
