An engineering student from Bankura, West Bengal, identified as Koushik Karan, was recently apprehended by Bengaluru airport authorities for attempting to open the emergency door of an IndiGo flight en route from Kolkata to Bengaluru. This incident occurred on April 29, as reported by The New Indian Express.
Karan, aged 22, had boarded flight 6E-6314 departing from Kolkata at 8.15 pm and scheduled to land at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 1 by 10.30 pm the same day. Alert crew members intervened promptly, preventing Karan from opening the door. Upon arrival, the pilot classified his behavior as unruly, leading to his transfer to IndiGo security personnel and subsequently to CISF officials.
The incident was reported to the authorities by an IndiGo employee, Mohammed Umar, on April 30. Karan was officially arrested on May 1 and later released on station bail.
