DG Halli riot: Targeted Cong MLA Akhanda Shrinvasa Murthy blames Cong corporators

Bengaluru: Pulikeshinagar MLA Akhanda Murthy appeared before CCB officials on Wednesday and gave a detailed statement on the incidents that led to the violence.

He reportedly informed the police that his sister’s son was used by three Congress leaders including former mayor Sampath Raj to create communal tension in the area.

According to the sources, as per the direction of the city police, Akhanda Shrinivasa Murthy joined the investigation on Wednesday and was asked over 100 questions by the police.

It is said that Murthy named three Congress corporators for the riot and stated that they are not happy with him as he had come to the Congress from the JDS.

However, all the three corporators denied their involvement in the riot. Sampath Raj informed that he is cooperating with the investigation and explained his position.

Meanwhile, city police commissioner Kamal Panth visited DG Halli and KG halli on Wednesday and reviewed the situation.
