State cabinet to decide fate of SDPI, PFI in state today

Bengaluru: State cabinet, which will meet today is likely to take a final decision on banning political organisation SDPI and extremist organisation PFI in the state.

Both these organisations are blamed for the DG Halli and KG Halli riots. The state government is likely to make a recommendation to the union home ministry, which is expected to take a final decision.

Both these organisations are under government radar over the last few years.

The RSS and pro-Hindutva organisations are demanding a ban on these organisations citing increasing communal tension in the state.

The cabinet is also likely to take a slew of decisions including reforms in the Karnataka Public Service Commission, second set of land reforms etc.
