Bengaluru: The Custom officials at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International airport on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old man for trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 10 lakh, that too hidden in his rectum.
The accused, Vijay Ashok Kumar Wadwani from Thane in Maharashtra, was hiding the 330 grams of gold biscuits in his rectum.
It is said that Wadwani had arrived from Sri Lankan Airlines-UL 173 flight.
Based on a tip off, Wadwani was frisked and the gold biscuits were found hidden in his body.
Officials are tracking his antecedents to know his past record.
Recently, a 53-year-old woman was arrested after she was found carrying 1.17 kg of gold biscuits in her rectum on May 10.
