Bengaluru: One of the perception among the general public in the state is that the BJP always starts election campaigns well in advance and the Congress party waits till last minute. Several reasons may be attributed for this. This time too BJP state unit is front runner with party already announcing its Chief Minister candidate and party leaders busy in inducting leaders from other parties.

But, this time the Congress party seems to have learnt from lessons and had started preparations for the upcoming state assembly election scheduled in the year 2018 well in advance. One of the best proof for this is a calendar put up in the KPCC office on Queen’s Road of Bengaluru.

The Election Commission is yet to start the preparations for the state assembly election. According to the sources, election dates may be announced in February 2018. But the KPCC has already started preparations with a calendar.

According to the party insiders, a calendar has been put up in the KPCC office which is basically a countdown. “Last week we started this count down process. Party wants to start the preparations for next assembly election well in advance to ensure that we will get mandate again,” said a office staff.
