CM invites Devegowda to all-party meeting on Cauvery judgement

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has requested former prime minister H D Deve Gowda to participate in an all-party meeting called to discuss the Supreme Court judgement regarding the Cauvery water dispute.

The all-party meeting has been called in the Vidhana Soudha conference hall on March 8 at 4 pm. The Chief Minister has written a letter to the former prime minister to participate in the meeting. He has also invited the opposition leaders of legislature, MLAs and MPs of Cauvery watershed area to discuss the judgement of the Apex Court delivered on February 16.

Whenever the Cauvery water dispute became a headache to the state, CM Siddaramaiah used to meet Deve Gowda personally to take advice and also used to invite him to the meeting. The JDS supremo has always given some advises to Siddaramaiah. Recently, after the Supreme Court judgement, Deve Gowda was unhappy about the silence of the government. He also warned that if the government feels contented with this judgement, the state would suffer in days to come.
