BSY takes surprise rounds of city to assess lockdown implementation

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa took surprise rounds of Bengaluru city to inspect the implementation of lockdown, on Sunday, April 12.

The visit was unplanned and Yediyurappa covered several pockets of the city including Malleshwaram, Yashwanthapura, Goraguntepalya, Dasarahalli, Sumanahalli, Nagarabavi, Kamakshipalya Govindarajanagar, Vijayanagar, Padmanabhanagar  etc.

The CM interacted with several people selling essential commodities and he even purchased a few fruits from some of the vendors leaving sellers happy.

The CM also spoke to police and traffic personnel and then interacted with local residents too.

While some vendors and locals expressed opinion on lockdown implementation many spoke about their grievances.

By and large the roads were all empty and only a few heavy vehicles supplying goods were seen on the streets.

On Saturday, the PM held a video conference with the CMs of all states to discuss the lockdown implementation and after consultation the lockdown was extended till April 30.
