Bengaluru: The BJP and JD(S) alliance likely to continue in the upcoming Legislative Council election as well, speculations were rife that the alliance may not continue after Prajwal Revanna’s alleged sex scandal came to the fore.
The Prajwal Revanna case had caused severe embarrassment to the NDA leaders and news was doing rounds that the pact between BJP and JDS would no longer progress, but some sources have revealed that the alliance will fight the upcoming election jointly.
According to many reports, in the upcoming Legislative Council election, BJP may contest on four seats and JDS will contest on two seats. The list of BJP candidates is likely to be released on Sunday evening.
According to sources from JD(S), the party will contest from the Karnataka South Teachers’, and Karnataka South-West Teachers’ constituencies. The JD(S) had won these seats six years ago.
Nominations for these seats have started and May 16 is the last date for nominations. The elections will be held on June 3, and results will be announced on June 6. JDS leader, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, will be meeting BJP leaders in Delhi soon to discuss the seat-sharing issue and the Prajwal Revanna case.
