A woman described the terrifying experience of being driven along National Highway 1 by four men in an SUV. The incident was captured on camera by teacher Harmeen Soch as she was traveling on the Punjab highway between Dhilwan and Subhanpur.

“A 7-kilometer game of cat and mouse. These four males in Scorpio would not come off of me. The caption for Harmeen’s post read, “Either they were tailgating or slowing right ahead inhibiting my drive.” Harmeen stopped at a gas station in a fruitless attempt to flee.

“I stopped at the gas pump in between to give them space to go.” They must have stopped somewhere along the way because I saw them catch up to me once more. It was nerve-wracking to accelerate up on the highway, so I finally slowed down,” she continued.

In the interval, Harmeen was thinking about calling the police, but she eventually outwitted the four males. As I drive on the NH1, where the posted speed limit is 100 kmph, I’m debating whether to call the police or just keep going because my current speed is less than 50 kmph. I figured since my slip road was approaching, I’d give it another go at going faster.

They accelerated once again to slow me down, and I abruptly made a left turn without using my indicator, causing them to travel on an elevated road and me to travel on a slip road,” she continued.

Although Harmeen felt a great sense of relief, the encounter was horrifying.

I realized, breathing a sigh of relief, that I was trembling in my knees and felt my heartbeat in my mouth. For several days, a woman may experience trauma from something that a few males find amusing. I wonder if males are aware of that. PS: They started this game and their ego could have been offended because I hadn’t even passed this car in the first place, she remarked.

Meanwhile, a number of social media users encouraged Harmeen to report something to the police. The majority of people sent Harmeen encouraging words.

“Ideally, you ought to lodge a grievance. It’s simple to send the authorities a strong message if you have the footage, a person commented.

“I’m not sure about the social media support, but stopping the car in a side position without opening the door, going live on Facebook or Instagram, and sharing your experience with other users would have probably alerted the authorities,” says a comment on another post.

A few X users also praised Harmeen for her unwavering composure in the face of the terrible circumstances.

“Harmeen, I know that must have been a trying circumstance, but you showed guts and presence of mind to stay away from those folks. These days, you never know when you’ll run into these situations, so don’t hesitate to phone the police or your loved ones. Harmeen, take care of yourself.

On X, Harmeen’s post became viral and received over 917.3k views.
