Bengaluru: Former MLA, BJP leader Sunil Valyapure has decided against quitting the party. He was an aspirant for the party ticket in the Chincholi assembly constituency by-election.

After a marathon meeting with his supporters in the Chincholi town, he spoke to BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa and convened his decision. According to the sources, Yeddyurappa assured him of a suitable position in the coming days.

Interestingly, if sources are to be believed, Valyapure tried to join the Congress through Priyanka Kharge, son of senior Congress leader Mallikharjun Kharge. But former CM Siddaramaiah raised red flag stating saffron party leaders should not be allowed to join the party.
