Bengaluru: A new scientist in the making, 16-year-old Apramaya has emerged as the winner of a National level robotics championship.

Apramaya, student of National School, a government-aided school, took part in the competition where robots had to reach a bottle to win.

He was guided by his master Khan for three long months. Khan came to India 5 years ago to teach robotics to international schools because it is an expensive subject. He teaches government schools for free.

Following the win, Apramaya has been given a chance to go to United States for another competition.

“My school gave me Rs. 5000/- and for the rest, my father took a loan from a friend for me to pursue this trip,” says Apramaya.

The competition required robots that could move faster and Apramaya designed one which comprised powerful motors and engines. The materials were provided by people who hosted the competition.

Apramaya says that he is very much interested in robotics and plans to make future with that.
