Newskarnataka – Bangalore

Bangalore: There are all indications that the city of Bangalore would face  garbage problem yet again this year. The residents of Mundur in the outskirts of the city are on a protest since June 1, Sunday urging the BBMP against dumping wastes in the area. The efforts of District in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy to persuade the protestors went in vain.

Later, along with Reddy even former minister Aravinda Limbavali and Mayor Katte Satyaranarayana held talks which too was a futile exercise.

The Mayor speaking at a press meet later on   sought some time for the BBMP and said it has already taken four projects and assured that wastes will not be dumped in Mundur  in the future.

Here it is worth mentioning that  garbage disposal issue had become a major problem in the capital last year with almost the entire city stinking with heaps of garbage.
