Bengaluru: After facing criticism for abandoning his old car only because a crow sat on it and tainted the car, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is in defense mode now, stating that it was imperative to buy a new official car because the old one had become too unsafe for driving.

As the new luxury high end car rolled on the road on Tuesday, the CM said that though there were plans of buying a new car over the last two months as the old car developed technical problems, the issue was blown out of proportion unnecessarily.
“The old car had covered 2 lac kms,” he said.
According to sources, the new car costs more than Rs 30 lacs.
It may be recalled that newskarnataka.com had exclusively covered the incident of how the CM’s car was reportedly tainted by a crow that perched on it. Since his coterie had reportedly convinced the CM that perching of crow can be a bad omen, CM shed away his atheist coat and succumbed to superstition. Without any delay he bought a new official car.
