Bengaluru: An FIR has been filed on Tuesday against JD(S) MLA Mallikarjun Khooba in cash-for-vote scam.

Acting upon the instruction by central election commission, Vidhana Sabha secretary S Murthy filed an FIR against the assembly representative at Vidhana Soudha police station.

The MLA under scrutiny was visibly found approaching a person demanding cash to cross vote in favour of Congress party in Rajya Sabha election which held recently.

Earlier to this development, the central election commission directed the state election commission to file FIR and transfer the case to CBI enquiry.
