Bengaluru: After having entered the glamorous world of cinema, Nikhil, son of chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has expressed his desire to work for the people.

“I am ready to contest the Lok Sabha polls, give me a chance, ” Nikhil told during a public meeting held as part of Kumaraswamy Abhinandana ceremony in Mysuru.

“I am still an infant in this field. Forgive me if I commit mistakes, ” he said questioning if it was possible to stay away from serving the people after having been born in HD Devegowda’s family.

Minister GT Devegowda, who addressed the gathering earlier said that the people of Mysuru will ensure victory for Nikhil if he contests from Mysuru.

“Nikhil wants to contest from Mandya and we have suggested him to contest from Mysuru,” he said.

It is said that the JDS will leave Mandya for Sumalatha Ambareesh and may settle with Mysuru for political debut of Nikhil Kumaraswamy. Many felt that the CM’s felicitation programme was, in fact, a stage set to introduce Nikhil to Mysuru. This means Nikhil may take on BJP’s sitting MP Prathap Simha in the upcoming polls.
