Bengaluru: With the election around the corner, the state government decided to implement a few important populist programmes. With the idea of winning the hearts of unemployed youths from across the state, the government decided to implement the Sarojini Mahishi report.

As per the decision was taken by the state government, henceforth all the private companies, which take government scheme benefits like concession in stamp duty, subsidised land and tax benefits must reserve 100% of C and D group jobs for the Kannadigas.

The state cabinet, which met on Thursday evening approved this proposal unanimously.

Speaking to the reporters after the cabinet meeting, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister Krishna Bairegowda informed that new rule will not be applicable to IT and ITES companies. “

A district-level committee headed by the DC will monitor the implementation of this rule,” he said.

The meeting also decided to form the Brahmana Development Board, which was proposed in the 2018-19 budget itself.

According to the sources, this board is formed to counter the 10% reservation proposed by the central government to the economically weaker section of the society from upper castes.

The meeting also approved the proposal of free bicycles for Std 8 students. “Rs.189 crores will be released for this purpose,” informed Gowda.
