Belagavi: Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar has criticized BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for their silence regarding the alleged sex racket involving Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna (JDS).

She highlighted the contrast between their vocal condemnation of Neha Hiremath’s murder in Hubballi and their silence on the Prajwal Revanna case.

Speaking at a press conference in Belagavi focused on the viral sex videos linked to Prajwal Revanna, she questioned why BJP leaders were not addressing such a serious offense.

She urged Jagadish Shettar, the BJP candidate from Belagavi, to advocate for the women affected by the Prajwal Revanna case. The Minister stated that the Congress party consistently condemns violence against women and takes necessary actions without politicizing the issue.

She called for support from BJP leaders, particularly Mangala Angadi and Jagadish Shettar, likening their response to that of Neha’s case. She urged them to uphold the slogans they often champion, such as “Nari Shakti” and “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” by supporting the women affected by the Prajwal Revanna case.

She also called upon Modi to declare his stance on the matter and questioned the fate of the mangalsutras of the women involved.

The Minister charged that though, Union Minister Amit Shah knew about the sex scandal of Prajwal, the NDA has decided to field Prajwal from Hassan, BJP former MLA Preetham Gowda has brought this issue to the notice of Shah, and other senior leaders. Hassan BJP leader Devaraje Gowda has brought this scandal to the notice of state BJP chief Vijayendra and he did not act, charged Hebbalkar.

She also demanded that Prajwal should be brought to India immediately who is said to be flew to Europe by issuing red corner notice against him.
