Bagalkote: Vijayapur MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal finds himself embroiled in controversy yet again as an FIR has been lodged against him at Bagalkote’s Navnagar Police Station.
The complaint, filed by Labor Inspector Ramesh Bhimappa Sindagi, accuses Yatnal of making derogatory remarks about Minister Sivananda Patil during a public speech.
This marks the second legal action taken against Yatnal within the span of a week. Yatnal’s remarks were allegedly made during an open speech at Prime Minister Modi’s program held in Navanagar on April 29. The complaint lodged by Sindagi on behalf of the government accuses Yatnal of inciting sectarian sentiments against Minister Sivananda Patil. This recent legal action follows another FIR filed against Yatnal and others at Station Bazar police station in Kalaburagi city. The earlier complaint stemmed from derogatory remarks and hate speech allegedly made by Yatnal and associates against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a protest held at Sardhar Vallabhabhai Patel Circle in Kalaburagi city on April 22. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the Karnataka Pradesh Shepherd Association.
