Etawah: A recent incident at Udi Mor Road railway station near Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah raised concerns when the station master fell asleep on duty, causing a delay for the Patna-Kota Express train as it waited for a green signal for nearly thirty minutes.

Prompt action followed from the Agra Division, responsible for the station, demanding an explanation from the station master for the negligence leading to the disruption.

“We’ve initiated disciplinary measures by issuing a charge sheet to the station master,” stated Agra Railway Division PRO Prashasti Srivastava.

Udi Mor Road station, though small, holds significance as a transit point for trains heading towards Prayagraj from Agra and Jhansi.

Reports suggest that the train’s loco pilot had to repeatedly sound the horn to wake up the sleeping station master and prompt the signal change.

Acknowledging his error, the station master expressed remorse for the incident, citing his solitary presence at the station due to the absence of his duty partner.
