According to an affidavit he filed with the Election Commission, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared assets valued at ₹ 71.07 crore, up by over ₹ 7 crore in the previous five years.
In 2019, the head of BJD disclosed assets worth ₹ 63.87 crore.
For the sixth time, Mr. Patnaik submitted his nomination papers for the Hinjili assembly segment along with a 64-page affidavit stating that he possessed moveable assets valued at over ₹ 14.05 crore and immovable properties valued at ₹ 57.02 crore.
His movable assets include term deposits in various banks and post offices, while ₹ 13.66-crore Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar and a ₹ 43.35-crore house at APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi are among his immovable assets.
Naveen Patnaik has a 50 per cent share in the New Delhi residence and a two-thirds share in the Naveen Niwas, Bhubaneswar.
According to the affidavit, he possesses 45.77 gram buttons of rubies, diamonds and silver (five pieces) worth around ₹ 4.17 lakh.
The document also stated that the chief minister is in possession of ₹30,000 and an ambassador car from the 1980s.
The car was worth ₹ 8,905 five years ago, and its current value is ₹ 6,434.
In 2022–2023 he declared ₹ 92,24,900 as his income on his tax return.
Naveen Patnaik said he has no liabilities and no criminal case against him.
