The lift’s brakes failed during a horrifying accident at a housing complex in Noida Friday night, sending it flying through the top floor’s ceiling. The lift malfunction at the Paras Tierra Society in Sector 137 resulted in injuries to three of the passengers.

Residents of the housing complex are terrified because of the tragedy, which happened only months after an elderly woman lost her life in a lift crash at the complex.

In the last 12 months, multiple fatalities in Noida have been caused by frequent lift malfunctions. The Uttar Pradesh government even passed a rule requiring appropriate maintenance of elevators as a result of the scandal.

In the most recent occurrence, the elevator broke down while the people inside were leaving Tower-5’s fourth floor. Suddenly the brakes gave out and it began to ascend. The elevator burst into the roof as it reached the 25th floor.

According to the inhabitants, there were three injuries in the elevator, including two women. The tower’s two elevators have been shut off, and inhabitants are advised to use the stairs instead.

Police stated that the occurrence happened as a result of a technical error, and it is being looked into. They promised that everyone had been removed safely and that the offenders would face consequences.

The lift breakdown was allegedly caused by a lack of routine maintenance, according to the residents.

“We will demand that the architects and builders do a comprehensive investigation into this entire affair. Our top goal is the citizens’ safety. “We are committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future,” declared the Paras Tierra Society Apartment Owners Association.

A free fall between floors caused by a snapped lift cable resulted in the death of an elderly woman at the Paras Tierra Society last August, possibly after a heart attack.

Eight workers at the Amrapali Dream Valley housing project in Noida Extension, which was still under construction, lost their lives in a lift accident one month later.

The Uttar Pradesh Lift and Escalator Bill, which mandates registration for the installation of lifts and escalators, was passed by the state Legislative Assembly in February of this year. The statute also includes measures for compensation and insurance.
