New Delhi: A tragic incident unfolded at a restaurant in a mall in the Pitampura area of outer Delhi, where a 23-year-old man named Jatin lost his life allegedly due to a stabbing during his birthday celebration with friends. The authorities reported that the CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained, leading to the detention of six individuals, including the restaurant owner.
The victim, identified as Jatin from Budh Vihar, was involved in a dispute with the restaurant staff, resulting in a confrontation that turned violent. Jatin was fatally stabbed in the chest, and two of his friends, Varad and Prashan, sustained injuries while trying to intervene.
Initially treated as an accident following a PCR call to B M Hospital about a man admitted with severe injuries, further investigation by authorities revealed the true nature of the incident. It was found that the altercation occurred during Jatin’s birthday celebration at a restaurant within Vardmaan Mall.
Jatin succumbed to his injuries despite efforts to save him, prompting the police to register an FIR for murder based on the PCR call received earlier. The case has been assigned to the Special Staff of the Outer district for thorough investigation.
The police have taken swift action, forming a team to gather evidence from CCTV footage, gather local information, and interview witnesses. Currently, six individuals have been detained in connection with the incident as the investigation progresses.
