Tragedy struck in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district as a collision between a goods vehicle and a truck claimed the lives of eight individuals, including five women and three children, while leaving 23 others injured. The incident occurred on Sunday night as the victims were returning from a family gathering in the goods vehicle.
According to authorities, the collision happened when the vehicle struck a parked mini-truck along the roadside.
The deceased have been identified as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), along with three children: Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6), as per PTI reports.
The injured have been swiftly taken to nearby medical facilities for urgent care. Among them, four critically wounded individuals have been transferred to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur for advanced treatment, as confirmed by the police.
