Mumbai : The third anniversary of Meera-Dahanu Bunts, was celebrated at the Asmitha College Grounds, Bhayandar recently. Muzaffar Hussain, prominent social worker and politician of Meera Bhayandar, inaugurated the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Hussain described Karnataka as a sacred land whose leaders have attained fame at the national level.
Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde who was present as a chief guest, hailed the activities of the Association and wished it success in its future endeavors.
Sarvottam Shetty of Abu Dhabi who also spoke, described Bunts as hard working people who have contributed a great deal to the society.
CA Shanker Shetty, President of Buntara Sangha, Mumbai, was also on the dais.
Hithendra Thakur, President of Bahujana Vikasa Aghadi was felicitated on the occasion by Virar Shanker Shetty, Honorary President of Meera-Dahanu Bunts and Prakash Hegde, its President.
MJ Shetty, President of Suratkal Buntara Sangha, Shameena G Alva, K Bhujanga Shetty, Karnur Shanker Alva, Suresh Shetty, Prabha Shetty, Santosh Rai, Yogini D Shetty, Bharathi V Rai, Sahani Shetty, Vishal R Shetty and others were present.
A cultural programme ‘Tuluvere Sambhrama’ by over 120 artistes of the community, enthralled the gathering.
