Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajith Singh will inaugurate Air Cargo services at the Mangalore Airport on March 18, Monday, informed JT Radhakrishna, Airport Director. Union Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily and Minister of State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal will be present on the occasion.
The air cargo complex covers s 14,000 square feet and has a capacity to store approximately 100 tonnes of cargo. Fresh vegetables, flowers, food products and other items will be exported initially. Meanwhile, cold storage facilities will be installed at the cargo complex to export seafood, Radhakrishna informed.
