Uttar Pradesh: Union Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani hurled the national flag upside down in Hardoi on Sunday.
Smriti who was in Hardoi to lay the foundation stone of a Kendriya Vidyalaya building, hurled the tricolour that she later noticed was upside down.

The incident has raked up a controversy. The minister hasn’t given any explanation in her defence so far and abstained from giving any political comment in her six-minute speech.

In her speech at the Kendriya Vidhyalaya, she said there is an urgent need for upgrading the education system.
