A dolphin allegedly died after beachgoers took it out of water to take selfies with it.
The video of the dolphin, of a rare species, that was washed ashore shows how people passed it among each other to take selfie.

A report in Indian Express states that the dolphin died of overheating as it was taken out of the water.

It was later left stranded at the beach.

Incident came to light, when a person on the beach posted picture on Facebook showing the dolphin held by tourists. Although later he deleted the pictures and claimed that the dolphin was already dead when they took it out of water.

Following the reports, the Wildlife Foundation of Argentina issued a release stating that the the dolphin the Franciscana or La Plata, is a very rare species and only 30,000 of these exist in the world. The organisation urged people to return these dolphins to the sea and help rescue them.
